| Welcome to Highfields Bloodstock . . . At Highfields we’ve been breeding, raising and preparing quality young horses on the rolling hills of our North Auckland farm in New Zealand’s North Island, now for 15 years - initially Standardbred Pacers and more recently Thoroughbreds. Indeed we are probably unique in being the only commercial breeder in Australasia to maintain such a joint operation.
 Our total commitment and goal is unchanged however - to provide discerning buyers with consistently outstanding individuals from superior families. Our specific objective is to produce yearlings which combine the very best in individual athleticism and physical soundness along with desirable attitude and behaviour - attributes best achieved by small, focused operations such as ours. All our mares have been very critically selected for their bloodlines with a strong emphasis on the depth and quality of pedigree. They range from some of the most classic New Zealand families right through to several outstanding imported American mares of international stature. Our foals too are always the product of a carefully planned linebred mating, whereby each mare’s genetic potential has been balanced and enhanced by that of the most appropriate sire. In a nutshell, at Highfields we continually strive for quality rather than quantity . . .
