RESULTS & SUCCESSES
Ultimately the only true measure of success for a breeding stud is success on the racetrack. Can a breeder consistently produce horses that perform where it counts?
We feel that the results speak for themselves . . .
In 1998, two-thirds of Highfields' first two drafts were already winners - in the following year our second draft went one better, achieving a remarkable 85% winning rate*. By the time we presented our 1999 Highfields' draft, horses from our earlier 1996 crop had produced an outstanding 5 winners from a consignment of only 6 yearlings, while the 1997 draft had surpassed even that, with 100% winners to current starters.
During the 2000 season the results just kept on getting better, with 15 horses racing from our small Highfields Bloodstock drafts - resulting in a remarkable 13 winners, with the other 2 being placed. Such results led to Highfields Bloodstock being awarded the 2000 North Island Breeder of the Year award. Highlight performers from that season included . . .
